Hospital birth

We are pleased to offer you the option of the Labour Ward, the Midwifery-Led Unit with access to a permanent birthing pool, the antenatal and postnatal ward, antenatal clinic, day care unit, neonatal unit and transitional care unit. We have a multi-disciplinary team to provide care to women/babies and families who choose our services. We offer a 24-hour epidural service, and a birthing pool for labour and delivery. Our labour ward has 11 birthing rooms; they are large, light and airy rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The labour ward also has 2 co-located maternity theatres and a two bedded recovery area, and we also offer women birth in our 4 bedded Midwifery Led Unit. Our unit has a neonatal unit and a transitional care unit to provide care for your baby. In our rooms you have the option of playing music, using birthing balls, and adjusting the bed to suit your needs.

You can choose to birth your baby at home, in the hospital in either labour ward or in the Midwifery-Led Unit. We encourage our women to choose to birth in a place that suits their individual needs and you can view the unit in the virtual tour. Our community services will support you during your pregnancy, and for delivery at home we have a dedicated home birth team. Your community midwife will continue to see you in the community after the birth of your baby.
