Nutrition and Dietetics
Dietitians are state registered with the Health Care Professions Councils (HCPC) www.hcpc-uk.org and either have a BSc and/or an MSc in Nutrition & Dietetics. We are the only qualified health professionals that can assess, diagnose and treat diet and nutrition related conditions. We provide education and support to patients/carers as well as other health care professionals on disease specific nutritional advice.
We are based at the Hillingdon Hospital, and provide dietetic support to ward patients at Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospital. In addition we provide dietetic outpatient clinics at both sites and from several GP practices across the borough. We work across a range of specialities including Gastroenterology, Care of the Elderly, Respiratory, Critical Care, Diabetes, Oncology, Neurological Rehabilitation, Paediatrics and Neonatology. We provide services to adults and children of any age.
Our department aims to improve health and wellbeing for patients with evidence-based nutritional advice, and our vision is to be the dietetic service ‘of choice’ for the Hillingdon population and beyond.
The Dietetic Department opening hours are Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm
