Stop the spread of norovirus infection

Stop the spread of norovirus infection

Norovirus levels in our community are increasing.

We currently have visiting restrictions in place to protect our patients due to the high incidence of contagious norovirus stomach bug in the community and the hospital.

Visitors are asked to:

  • only visit the hospital if it is necessary, preferably family members only
  • visit only one ward or clinical area
  • not to visit or attend the hospital if they have had a stomach bug or been in close contact with someone who has over the previous three days.

It is essential that all visitors to the hospital wash their hands with hot water and soap. Please note that hand gel is not effective against norovirus.

Please help us protect you, your family and our patients by keeping visits to our hospitals to a minimum. Only essential visits are allowed to certain wards.

Please look out for, and observe, any guidance placed outside wards and clinical areas and follow any instructions from our staff.

By helping to stop the spread of norovirus you will also help us to keep our staff healthy, so that they can continue to treat our community.
