Why we need a new hospital

Hillingdon Hospital's ageing estate is increasingly difficult to adapt and maintain for modern healthcare. Some buildings 
date back to the 1940s, when they were built as temporary emergency accommodation, and remain in use today.

The complex layout makes it harder for patients to move between services and creates challenges for staff in delivering efficient,  joined-up care.

The redevelopment provides a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a modern, purpose-built hospital designed with 
patients, staff and the communities it serves at its heart.
