Honour for Carole after years of dedication

Carole McCarthy has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship.

A chartered physiotherapist specialising in the management of musculoskeletal conditions, Carole retired last year after four decades working in the NHS across acute, community and primary care.

As head of therapy services at our Trust, she was involved in the Brunel Partners Academic Centre for Health Sciences, based at Brunel University London, from its inception.

Honorary fellowships are conferred for significant contributions to the university.

Carole provided great input to Brunel’s physiotherapy course, by helping to shape the development of the programme and providing high-quality clinical placements for students.

Colleagues at the university in Kingston Lane, Uxbridge, have been inspired by her caring, empathetic and strong leadership, and her passionate advocacy for the profession, with the care of patients and staff at heart.

  • Also graduating on Monday 15 July were 10 healthcare assistants who had followed a nursing associate apprenticeship supported by our Trust. They received foundation degrees in nursing and are now all registered nursing associates. They have already taken up their roles in our two hospitals. Some are pictured right, with Trust colleagues aho attended their graduaton ceremony
