Leadership honours for Trust as we bag two top awards

We are celebrating leadership excellence with two of our colleagues today (Wednesday 27 November) after Hyder Mohammad (above, left) and Rajesh Bhalla scooped top awards at a lavish ceremony last night.

Raj’, our Trust’s head of clinical engineering, won the Team Leader of the Year Award at the national Ethnic Minorities into Leadership Awards for the civil service and public sector, held at London’s De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms.

Hyder, our sustainability lead, won the Emerging Leader of the Year Award. Both work within our Estates and Facilities function and are based at Hillingdon Hospital.

The annual awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of ethnic minorities across the civil service and wider public sector, honouring achievements which inspire and empower, highlighting leadership, innovation, and dedication.

Steve Wedgwood, Trust director of operational estates and facilities, hailed the double success for his team. He said: “This is such a great achievement for them both, recognising their leadership abilities and standing as a great example to the other staff we have from ethnic minorities aspiring to a leadership role.

“We’ll be adding the trophies to an already bulging awards cabinet in the Estates and Facilities departmental offices!”
