New chief people officer joins Trust

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Philip Spivey, who has this week joined the Trust as our new chief people officer.

He joins us from London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust where he was the deputy chief people officer for seven years, and has recently led workstreams within the Acute Provider Collaborative.

Phil, who started in his new role on Monday, has worked in the NHS for over 25 years and has a broad range of experience in workforce issues, having worked in a number of Trusts at regional and national level.

He will be responsible for delivery of the people strategies across the organisation and will lead our corporate responsibility for strategic planning, policy making and the delivery of the Trust objectives, while providing professional advice to the board.

Leading the organisation’s workforce and organisational development functions, he will ensure that they serve the needs of our clinical and non-clinical departments, and work in partnership with staff and staff representatives.

Patricia Wright, our Trust's chief executive, said: "I'm really delighted Phil will be starting with us. He is a very experienced workforce leader and I think will bring new skills and expertise to the organisation.

"He will be working very closely with Mo [Holas, deputy chief people officer] and they and the team will continue to improve our workforce offering for our staff."

Phil replaces Jo Fanning who joined Hillingdon in September 2021 as deputy chief people officer before being appointed interim chief people officer in November 2022.

Jo has now moved to Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as its new chief people officer.
