Patient and visitors travel survey
We are a major healthcare provider for you, our patients. The Trust recognises through its CARES values that we must also consider patients and visitors travel experience into our planning consideration. In addition to this we are also aware that as one of the major NHS organisations in the region, generating significant travel has an impact on the environment, which we are actively working to reduce through our sustainability commitments.
We all have to travel, not only for hospital appointments, but also for various other reasons. Our journey to hospital affects our personal wellbeing and hospital experience, regardless of where you live or which mode of travel you use (eg walking, cycling, motorcycle, public transport, driving).
Covid has made it clear that organisations and individuals must invest in their healthy and active travel plans, and in response we delivered a record number of cycle events in 2020 and 2021 due to increasing demand of cyclists.
We continue to do so and are now conducting staff and patients and visitors travel surveys to capture your views to develop plans that make a difference to you.
In 2021 we had published our first sustainable transport and travel plan, which has delivered a number of travel initiatives already, brining innovations to meet your travel requirements. We deliver such initiatives by working closely in partnership with London Borough of Hillingdon, Transport for London and their partners. Such travel plans are also mandatory for local planning, and for planning applications such as for the Trust’s New Hospital Programme and other major refurbishment projects.
Please take few minutes to answer the travel survey and help us to make a difference to your travel. We are enabling both online and paper copies. We encourage doing online, there are QR codes that can be scanned through smart phones.
