Sustainability and net zero efforts bring Trust another award

The Trust’s hard work towards achieving ‘net zero’ and greater sustainability has been recognised yet again, with another prestigious award.

We scooped the Net Zero Journey of the Year Award at a glittering ceremony on Thursday 26 October for the Big Sustainability Awards.

We also clinched runner-up spot in the sustainable transport category.

The team was congratulated for their work by TV celebrity and ceremony host, Fred Dinenage, for making our buildings at our two sites - at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon hospitals – plus our vehicles and our services, more sustainable.

Steve Wedgwood, Trust director of operational estates and facilities, was on hand to collect the accolades.

He said: "Once again, the Estates and Facilities Team have beaten regional and national competitors to win these prestigious awards.

“This is the 13th award won by the team in just six years - in recognition of the excellent work undertaken in promoting and delivering real sustainability and change at the Trust.

“As always, it was a team effort, highlighting the contribution made by all Estates and Facilities teams to support the work of Hyder Mohammad, as the Head of Sustainability, in bringing it all together to meet the Trust Green Plan commitments and net zero target.”
