Another award for outstanding sustainaiblity
Well done to the Sustainability Team who have won another award, the 'Outstanding Sustainability Campaign 2024' Award. This is the team's 12th sustainability award in four years; and the 17th national award overall since 2017.
They were shortlisted in two categories and won the 'Outstanding Sustainability Campaign 2024' Award and were also chosen as the runner up in the 'Sustainable Transport Award.' The awards were given out by Stephen Simmonds a Magic Circle Magician.
Hyder Mohammad, head of sustainability, Emmanuel Bature, deputy waste manager, and Steve Wedgwood, director of operational estates and facilities, went to the 'Big Sustainability Expo and Awards' held in Southampton.
Steve Wedgwood said, "Winning our 12th national sustainability award in just four years is a great achievement for Estates & Facilities and our wider Trust and shows again that we are nationally recognised for our tangible sustainability improvements and initiatives and that others are looking to Hillingdon to show them the way forward on carbon reduction and net zero.
No other NHS Trust has achieved anything similar so we should be rightly proud of what has been achieved at our Trust.
"No other NHS Trust has achieved anything similar so we should be rightly proud of what has been achieved at our Trust. The ceremony was held in Southampton and an audience member sought us out afterwards to say how very pleased he was that we'd won as he'd born at Hillingdon Hospital and had moved to Southampton many years before so was rooting for us."
