Green award for sustainability, net zero strategy and waste reduction

Our Sustainability Team has another trophy to add to its cabinet of accolades.
The handsome wooden block was awarded to our Trust for our ongoing efforts in the field of sustainability, net zero strategy and waste reduction. It was presented – as a surprise extra honour – at the Metsä 2025 Sustainability Awards at Canary Wharf on Wednesday 19 March.
Despite not winning in the two categories we had entered – the Social Value Impact Award and the Best Sustainable Marketing Campaign Award – the judges felt we were worthy of special recognition.
Trust head of sustainability, Hyder Mohammad, said: “This special award came as a complete surprise and is welcome recognition for all the hard work colleagues across our two hospitals have put in to ensure we are a sustainable Trust and to keep delivering excellent patient care while lowering our impact on the environment and our finances.”
The awards are organised by the company Metsä Tissue, in partnership with the Cleaning and Services Support Association.
