Local MP visits Hillingdon Hospital to discuss new hospital plans

Danny Beales, MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip, visited Hillingdon Hospital to hear the latest updates on the new Hillingdon Hospital.

He met members of the hospital redevelopment team and a representative from Laing O'Rourke, who have recently been appointed to build the new facility.

The visit provided an opportunity to discuss Laing O'Rourke's role; the work taking place to prepare for the new hospital and highlight the considerable amount of work being carried out by colleagues to support the project,

Jason Seez, chief infrastructure and redevelopment officer at Hillingdon Hospitals, said: "We were delighted to welcome Danny to Hillingdon Hospital and provide an opportunity to discuss our plans and meet our construction partner.

"The redevelopment programme represents a once-in-a-generation investment in healthcare for our local communities, and we were pleased to share the work that has taken place to date.

"As we start working closely with Laing O'Rourke, we remain focused on delivering a modern, sustainable hospital that will provide high-quality facilities for patients and an improved working environment for staff for decades to come."

Rory Pollock, pre-construction director at Laing O'Rourke, said: "It was great to join our client and partner, Hillingdon Hospitals, and welcome Danny to the site to discuss the development of the new Hillingdon Hospital.

"We were able to talk about how our extensive healthcare experience can support the Trust in delivering exceptional outcomes for patients, NHS staff, and the surrounding community.

“We also explored how, by working collaboratively and maintaining momentum, we can support the safe and efficient delivery of the programme while creating a positive legacy that extends well beyond the hospital's completion.”

Danny Beales said: "I was delighted to visit Hillingdon Hospital to meet Laing O'Rourke.

"The appointment of a construction partner marks a hugely significant milestone and an important new phase in the delivery of this much-needed investment in local healthcare.

"During the visit, we discussed the next steps for the project, key timelines and the importance of ensuring we deliver the very best outcomes for patients, staff and the wider community.

"It is impressive to see the work that has already been undertaken to prepare the site, and I look forward to continuing to support the Trust and its partners as plans for the new hospital move forward."
