Medical trainees recognised for leadership, improvement and excellence

Young male doctor receiving certificate from female consultant

Medical students and consultants received their certificates at the annual Medical Education Awards this week.

Patricia Wright, Trust chief executive, and Miss Victoria Cook, interim medical director and consultant gynaecologist, presented the honours to the FY1 and FY2 doctors, plus the consultants who do much of the teaching and supervision and who are recognised for their excellence in these areas.

Dr Tristan Bate, a consultant paediatrician, was master of ceremonies at the awards held in the Education Centre at Hillingdon on Wednesday 12 July.

Patricia Wright told the trainees she hoped they had enjoyed their time at Hillingdon Hospital and at some stage of their career would like to come back.

She said: "What we are trying to do at Hillingdon is create an atmosphere where we are seen as a hospital people want to come to in order to receive a good basic level of training.

"I would encourage you, therefore, to come back at some point to work with us again within our new hospital."
