Minister of State for Health backs our plans for new hospital

Minister of State for Health Karin Smyth has visited Hillingdon Hospital and emphasised the Government's support for its redevelopment.
She was accompanied by Uxbridge and South Ruislip Labour MP Danny Beales. They met members of the Trust's Executive Team and the team in charge of the redevelopment, before touring the site.
Trust chief executive officer, Lesley Watts, said: "I was delighted to welcome Karin Smyth, Minister of State for Health, and Danny Beales, MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip. I was pleased to hear Karin Smith’s commitment to our rebuilding plans, and her support, and that of the government, for our efforts to provide a hospital that our patients, their families, our staff and our community deserve."

The visit was something of a homecoming for Ms Smith, who attended Bishopshalt School in Royal Lane, Hillingdon, a short walk from the hospital, and whose brother was born at the hospital.
