Newborns helped by the generosity of our community

Newborn babies and their families will benefit from a refurbished neonatal unit at Hillingdon Hospital thanks to the generosity of a local company.

Cable and tool supplier, Mills Ltd, raised more than £40,000 at their annual golf day to help fund the works.

The company has a long-standing relationship with The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In 2022, they raised £30,000 for Hillingdon Hospital's Ocean Pearl Suite which supports families whose baby was still born.

They raised another £40,000-plus in 2023 for a new rehabilitation garden in the hospital grounds and Mills staff volunteered to help with the planting of more than 8,000 bulbs during bitterly cold weather.

On Monday 1 September, company owner Jerry Mills and his marketing manager, Hayley Berry, presented Shirley Clipp, major appeals manager of the Hillingdon Hospitals charity, with a cheque for £40,650.

This is a wonderful example of the generosity and support we receive from our Hillingdon community

David Jenkins, director of the charity, said: “We are very grateful and privileged to be able to partner with such a great company and thank Jerry for his commitment and kindness in all his support.

“Thanks also to all the companies who attended the golf days and contributed so generously.

“This is a wonderful example of the generosity and support we receive from our Hillingdon community.”
