Trust represented at Carer's Reception at Windsor Castle
Joyce Hernandez, personalised care project manager, represented The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Macmillan Cancer at a reception at Windsor Castle this week. The event was hosted by their Majesties The King and The Queen, highlighting the inspirational work of paid and unpaid carers.
Joyce Hernandez, said:
As a Personalised Care Project Manager, I'm committed to making personalised cancer care something people genuinely feel at every stage of their cancer experience. Coming from a Filipino background, within the ethnically diverse community, I know how important representation is. I'm proud to be here celebrating carers and people living with and beyond cancer.
This event was dedicated to all carers, whether paid or voluntary, and to next of kin, relatives, friends, neighbours, and importantly to our incredible workforce: nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, social prescribers, support workers, and cancer coordinators. Your compassion and commitment hold our system together.
With the new National Cancer Plan for England, I have strong hopes that strengthening neighbourhood and community-based support will enable more people to live independently and well beyond cancer. This spotlight is for all of us. Thank you to Macmillan, and to The King and The Queen for celebrating us.”
At The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we believe every person affected by cancer deserves care that is tailored to their individual needs. Our Personalised Cancer Care programme ensures you receive the right support, at the right time, throughout your cancer journey.
